Hi Gianluca!
1) It has been a long season, with very high and unforgettable moments, but also with some conclusive regret: how do you globally judge it?
Baso: "Considering the whole thing , it has been a positive season: Euroleague is not a trophy you can win every year. If before starting the season anybody asked me if I would have signed to win supercup, copa del rey and Euroleague I would have asked back: "Where can I sign?" obviously accepting it. Anyway, as usual, as much you eat as hungry you become, and Liga, considering the regular season, was the easiest competition to win and we've been able to lose it. I've not accepted yet the defeat in the final."
2) Now a little bit of awaited and deserved holiday, the impression had in the last game is that the weight of a very challenging season has started to be felt and all the tiredness with it..
Baso: "Tiredness was there without any doubt, but we were trained to be able to do the last step and the last effort. My sensation about it is that the whole environment was quite convinced to have it won yet before it had started. We failed approach in game1 even if in the third quarter we had the match in our hands, but as always if you are not able to close the match in these cases the there's an high risk to heavily pay it...And this is exactly what happened. Game2 has been different in terms of intensity but even in this game we have not been able to kill the match and in the end they have punished us for the second time in a row. Being 0-2 has been quite a shock, but we were convinced in our possibilities and to be able to draw the series...We've done and given all that we had on the court, maybe it was some sort of destiny...All was going bad to us, while it was going good to them."
3) Said so, is it truly possible to think about you being involved in the Italian National Team qualification round for next European Championship? After the Euroleague triumph many persons have asked you..What's the situation about that?"
Baso: "National team has meant much to me and has given me very much, but at this time I would not be able to give help to the cause. That's why I have decided not to join: I'll go to Bari just to watch."
4) Despite being very busy, I am sure you have followed the series between Forlì and the so called F, which finally has given a little bit of deserved joy to all its supporters.."
Baso: "Fortitudo deserves to stay in Serie A. The season has been not so easy and very challenging but in the end they finally made it! Now let's hope they are able to pay all the debts."
6) Finally here it is the question made by one of the fans, the winner of the competition is Joana and here it is what she would like to ask you: "First of all congrats for the season played and for all that you have done for Barça in these years; I'd love to ask you if you still feel competitive in the roster thinking about next season."
Baso: "If I didn't feel competitive in such an high level team as Barca is, it would have been me in first person to say stop...Morally I have not recovered yet from the defeat in the Liga's final and I do not want to leave Barcelona this way. I hope that Barça would give me another choice."
5) It will be a very long summer reguarding you, waiting to know the situation for next season and we'll keep following news reguarding you; and, if you want, you can say something directly to the fans who follow you on http://www.gianlucabasile.com .
Baso: "A greet to all of you fans of http://www.gianlucabasile.com , keep following the website because summer will be extremely long. HAVE GOOD HOLIDAYS"
BASO
